Charlotte Area News, N.C. reports “There's $163 million in economic stimulus money still out there waiting to be delivered. Thousands of checks have been returned to the IRS because of incorrect addresses, and if you haven't gotten yours yet, you're running out of time.”

Unclaimed money from generated by the stimulus checks has been on a steady rise. The IRS is facing many problems that are revealing on their own. For one there IRS has many “glitches” resulting in incorrect mailing addresses, how can this be? They never seem to forget my address when they need money from me? More then 270,000 stimulus checks have been returned due to incorrect address in N.C alone.

Not all is lost, by law if the checks are not mailed by the end of the year, then the money will be applied towards a tax credit for the following’s year taxes. I would like to see how this tax credit would be applied. There may be many cases where this credit would not reach the intended recipient due to incorrect information. So instead of waiting for the check we strongly urge everyone who has yet to receive a stimulus check to inquire.
